Service tax deduction
You can now deduct the repair of your home appliances on your tax return.
Make use of the service deduction
Make use of the service tax deduction when you need your home appliances repaired.
Preliminary income assessment
You can deduct the labour cost of what you have paid for the repair directly on your preliminary income assessment (forskudsopgørelse).
You must keep your invoice as documentation; it is always sent to your email immediately after the repair has been completed.
Remember that you must pay digitally, otherwise you cannot claim the deduction.
Please note: The receipt may end up in your spam folder.
Deduction amount
In 2025 and 2026, you can deduct labour costs of up to DKK 17,500 on your tax return.
The environment
All this has been done to spare the environment a great many scrapped products and to reduce CO2 emissions.
Many home appliances are scrapped even though they often only need a minor repair.
Extending the life of your home appliances is a great advantage for both the environment and your finances.
Save the environment from a lot of waste
Every year, around 500,000 home appliances – including approx. 122,000 washing machines – end up at recycling centres in Denmark.
If we can save just 20% of these, we will already have made a big difference.
Durability
Home appliances generally last a long time, often 10–12 years, and some even longer.
Many people replace an appliance without first having had a technician diagnose the fault.
Appliance prices have risen considerably in recent years, and a repair can often save you several thousand kroner.
What do you save?
The value of the service deduction is approx. 26%. If you have paid DKK 1,000 for a service, you save approx. DKK 260 in tax.
Remember, too, that delivery and installation of new products often cost close to DKK 1,000.
Tax
You can go directly to the website of the Danish Tax Agency (SKAT) and deduct the labour cost straight away on your preliminary income assessment.
