We have installed a defibrillator, available around the clock at Mågevej 26, 2650 Hvidovre – and two employees are volunteer responders.

A defibrillator around the clock – Din Hvidevare Service takes responsibility in the local area

At Din Hvidevare Service we have focused on the environment, energy savings and sustainable solutions for many years. But we also want to take a caring, human responsibility in the local community we are part of. That is why we have now installed a defibrillator that is available around the clock at our address: Mågevej 26, 2650 Hvidovre.

A defibrillator can save lives – but only if it is close by and easy to reach. Time is a decisive factor in cardiac arrest, which is why we chose to mount the defibrillator on the outside of our fence, so it is always accessible – including outside our opening hours.

Registered with TrygFonden's defibrillator network

To make sure local people can find the defibrillator quickly, we have registered it on TrygFonden's official defibrillator map. There, anyone can see the location and status of the country's registered defibrillators, which helps help arrive faster in an emergency.

You can find our defibrillator – and all others in the area – here: Find the nearest defibrillator

We hope it will never be needed – but we also know that every minute counts when disaster strikes. That is why it matters to us to provide access to life-saving equipment in the local area.

Our employees respond – as defibrillator responders

As well as making the defibrillator available, we have also chosen to get actively involved in first aid. Two of our employees are now registered as volunteer defibrillator responders, which means that – in the event of a cardiac arrest nearby – they can be alerted by the 112 emergency centre and quickly bring the defibrillator to the person in need.

This scheme is part of TrygFonden's first-aid network, where ordinary citizens and businesses can help shorten response times in cardiac arrest – often before the ambulance arrives.

It is important to us that we don't just "put something up and hope it works". We want to be an active part of the solution when emergencies occur. That is why we have trained employees and set up clear procedures for a rapid response.

A small step – with great significance

A defibrillator may seem like a small detail in the bigger picture, but the statistics speak for themselves: only 1 in 10 people survive a cardiac arrest outside hospital. With a defibrillator nearby, up to 6 in 10 can survive if a shock and CPR are given within the first few minutes.

That is why we believe it is a responsibility more people should take on. Defibrillators save lives – but only if they are accessible and someone knows where they are. We therefore also encourage other businesses in the area to consider a similar solution.

Local roots and human responsibility

We already have a strong focus on our surroundings – in terms of the environment, energy use and sustainable investments. Installing a defibrillator and taking part in local emergency preparedness is a natural extension of our wish to be a responsible and visible player in the local community.

We know that many of our customers, partners and neighbours live and work in the area – and we would like to give something back. It can be reassuring to know that help is not far away if the worst happens.
