Four electric vans in the fleet – we focus on the environment all the way round.

Appliance service with a green conscience: electric vans, solar panels and sustainable choices

At Dinhvidevareservice the green transition isn't just something we talk about – it's something we act on. As a modern service company with many vehicles on the road every day, we have a particular responsibility to build sustainability into our daily operations. That is why we work purposefully to reduce our carbon footprint and make our service more environmentally friendly – without compromising on quality and efficiency.

A fleet in transition – electric vans leading the way

One of our most important focus areas is transport. Our technicians drive many kilometres every week to service and repair appliances at our customers' homes, so we have stepped up the replacement of our diesel vans with electric ones.

Today our fleet consists of 22 vehicles, 4 of which are already electric. The rest are modern diesel vans – all under four years old and in the best possible energy class for their category. We drive Peugeot Partners, which combine reliability with low CO₂ emissions and fuel economy of up to 17 km/l – rated energy class C.

But our goal is clear: over time, every vehicle will be switched to electric, as far as is technically possible. We follow developments closely, especially battery capacity and range, which are still a challenge – particularly in the more rural areas where we also serve customers.

“In the city the electric vans work brilliantly, but we still need more range and faster charging before we can switch the whole fleet. We are optimistic, though, and we know the manufacturers are working hard to improve the technology,” says managing director Torben Bennetzen.

Solar panels and a considered energy supply

The green transition doesn't stop with the vehicles. At Dinhvidevareservice we have invested in a 190 m² solar installation that covers a large share of the company's electricity use – including charging both our own electric vans and our employees' private electric cars.

This means a large part of the energy we use for charging comes straight from the sun. We offer our office staff free charging for their electric cars while they are at work – powered, of course, by green electricity from the roof.

Our partnership with Viva Energi has allowed us to take a holistic view of our energy use. It is not only good for the climate – it also sends an important signal to employees and customers alike that we are serious when we talk about responsible operations.

Green thinking at every step

Besides electric vans and solar panels, we work on a range of other green initiatives. Our technicians drive vehicles that are as compact as the job allows – both to reduce consumption and to take up less space in the cities. We use spare parts and tools with a long life and, wherever possible, we repair rather than replace.

At the same time we know our customers' time matters, so we constantly balance environmental concerns against efficiency. For example, waiting time at charging stations is a real day-to-day challenge, as it cannot be passed on to the customer – but we take on that challenge because we believe it pays off in the long run.

One step at a time – but in the right direction

The green transition doesn't happen overnight – but it does require the courage to take the first steps. At Dinhvidevareservice we are proud to be under way. With 4 electric vans, a large solar installation and a strategy to gradually replace the whole fleet, we show that it is possible to run an efficient service business with care for the environment.

“We see it as a natural part of our responsibility as a company – and we hope our choices will inspire both customers and colleagues in the industry to do the same,” concludes Torben Bennetzen.
