At Din Hvidevare Service we care about more than just repairs and spare parts. We take active responsibility for reducing our environmental impact – in matters both large and small. That is why we have launched a number of initiatives to reduce our CO₂ footprint and ensure more sustainable operations.

A responsible business

As a business we have a clear responsibility towards the environment – and we have chosen to take it seriously. We are working purposefully towards becoming environmentally certified, and this has already led to several concrete actions. As early as 2017 we took a big step by investing in 31 new vehicles in energy class A+, with an expected reduction in diesel consumption of up to 30% a year.

Electric vehicles – a natural part of the future

We have already introduced 4 Peugeot electric vehicles into our fleet, and they are running very successfully day to day. The electric vehicles are particularly well suited to urban areas, where their range fits the routes perfectly – and we expect to replace more vehicles over time as technology and infrastructure improve.

Smart route planning saves fuel

All our vehicles are fitted with GPS, and our route-planning system – integrated with Navision – automatically calculates the shortest and most efficient route between customer visits. That means fewer empty miles, shorter distances and lower CO₂ emissions. Our booking team works closely with the system and makes sure routes are optimised day by day.

Efficient, eco-friendly vans

Our preferred service vehicle is the Peugeot Partner Van L1 Flex 1.6 e-HDi 90 hp ESG, which combines good load capacity with low consumption. The van does up to 22.2 km/l and emits just 118 grams of CO₂ per kilometre. It suits our need for both space and flexibility perfectly – without compromising on fuel economy.

Partnership with Peugeot Taastrup

Together with Peugeot Taastrup we found the right model, meeting both our requirements for environmental friendliness and practical use in service work. The van is a good example of how it is possible to combine reliability with green thinking.

Eco-driving course for technicians

To make sure our eco-friendly vehicles are also driven in an eco-friendly way, all our technicians take part in a "Drive green" course. The course is designed to improve driving style so that consumption drops significantly. In fact, we have achieved fuel savings of up to 20% simply by changing driving habits.

One step at a time – with big impact

We know that the green transition is a process, not a single point. But we believe every step counts – and we keep taking them. It is about thinking responsibly, including in daily operations, planning and transport. Our goal is clear: less CO₂, less waste and more awareness – without compromising on the quality of our service.
